Dr. Jart+ Pore-X Sebum Control Mask

Second day of work-week or should I say stress-week?!? (hehehe). In times like this, I need to prepare. One thing I do in preparation is giving my skin some pampering with a facial mask. A facial mask is very versatile and convenient in terms of moisturizing the skin. Though it comes in different type since it caters to different skin type and need. I have used a lot of facial masks while some were good and some were not. I was looking for a nice facial mask in my cabinet and there in the last row is the smallest among the rest. It's not really that small, it's just that it is the smallest, in terms of packaging, from the rest of my masks. This mask is Dr. Jart+ Pore-X Sebum Control Mask.

Yes this is good for oily skin people like me and those with enlarged pores, like me again (hehehe!). This a great mask. No irritation nor any bumps :) I usually felt some itchiness in my jaw line every time I used a facial mask; but not this one. No itchiness upon application. The mask fits my face just right. There wasn't any strong scent from the mask. I think the wasn't really noticeable at all. I left this on the fridge before I used this. It was a refreshing and cool feeling upon application. When I woke up the next day, there were less oil. It didn't really made my skin completely oil-free but somehow I don't look much like a frying pan in the morning. I got this for free since this is a freebie from one of my past pre-orders. I am now thinking of getting it since this is good. Probably in my next order I'll include this and might as well check out some of their products :)

Baviphat Mango Magic Brightening Mask

Facial masks come in different type. Others can be hassle-free, while others can be messy. I definitely like those convenient one that all you need to do is to splat it on your face without any messy mixing needed. Though it can still be messy upon application but the convenient of a ready-to-use mask is really efficient especially when you're too lazy to make a DIY mask. Thanks goodness to those brands that make our lives easy :)

Mask is very important for a better skin. They add moisture and help in clearing those skin issues that we have. One mask I tumbled upon and wanted to try is the Baviphat Mango Brightening mask.

I don't see nor felt any difference in my face after using this. This is just a so-so-so mask. Nothing special to it. Good thing I got a sample of this to try. This what's good with samples. You'll be able to try first the product before committing your much-hard earn money ;) I absolutely salute companies that give samples to customers to try out their product first. In this case we know if its best to use it to our skin :) Since this is a sample, this is not the original packaging. The original package comes in a cute yellow tub type. I'm not sure how much is this but I got this sample for less than Php 20 from ebay seller bhappywithme. I'm not thinking of buying a full tub of this since it doesn't do anything to me :(

Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask - Tea Tree

Monday is back :( Weekend is over and I'm back in this small cubicle of mine. Well stressful week is smiling at me. Argh! I always prepared myself for the week ahead in order to reduce that stress. Why does my work always had stress by its side?!? Well every job will always have stress with them. I think they go together (hahaha!). One thing I always prepare is my skin. And what better to use is a nice sheet mask. Yesterday I used Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask in Tea Tree.

This mask is for anti-trouble. I'm not very much happy using this mask. It didn't help in soothing the only pimple I had. A bit of itchiness on my lower chin but it subsided in a few minutes. Good thing I didn't break out but then it did nothing to help in minimizing the only pimple I had :( I like the sheet size though because it fits my face well. This has no irritating scent. It felt a bit sticky after 20 minutes but it easily absorbed by my skin :) I think this is still worth it to buy but for now I need something that will help in minimizing my pores and lighten some acne marks.

Monday means work. A day before work I usually have a relaxation day at home. The week ahead of it will be stressful then. What better to prepare ahead of it is a nice facial mask. I used the Baviphat Essence Mask sheet for Sebum  and Trouble Care.

Baviphat is one of the newest cosmetics brand in Korea and it is becoming popular because of it's affordable yet effective products. This is my first time to venture on this brand. They have a lot of cute stuffs that are worth lemming at. This mask however is not one of them. It didn't do anything on my skin :( I didn't see any difference after using it. It gave me a bit of irritation on my lower chin but it subsided after a few minutes. This is maybe an initial reaction of my skin. The mask fits okay but the hole in the mouth area is quite small for me eventhough I have a small mouth. It has a light scent that isn't noticeable at all which I really like :) I bought this at the TLC shop around Php 85. I am not buying this again because it isn't worth it at all.

Skin Food Peach Sake Pore Essence Mask Sheet

I adore face masks. They are great to relieve stressed and tired skin. I love to use this when I want to pamper myself on those relaxing days :) I have said here that one of my routine on weekends is using facial masks. Since it was a weekend yesterday (and yes it's the dreaded day again, Monday), I indulge myself for a relaxing day with a nice facial masks. I used the Skin Food Peach Sake Essence Pore Mask Sheet to relieve my skin from the bad heat we have in the country.

I have this mask on my drawer for too long already. I bought this late last year and included from my Skin Food haul. I bought this since this is for those who have pore issues like me. I decided yesterday to use this since it's been in my beauty arsenal for quite sometime ( I think for too long already, hehehe!). As always I place my mask sheets on the fridge for awhile before I use it. This helps in giving that cool and refreshing feeling upon application and I think this is also good to close the pores. This has a weird scent since it's a combination of peach and sake. However, I have tried the Peach Sake serum and it smells nice. I thought this will also smell nice but I don't like the smell at all. It gave me a bit of a headache but it is still bearable. No irritation upon application and the mask fits perfectly on my big face (lol!). I left it for 15 minutes. No dripping of essence when you open it. But after 15 minutes, it left me too much essence on my face that I end up using the sheet on my neck and feet :) Feels sticky and it took time for my skin to absorbed it. No changes noticed after. This is package like every mask sheet in the market. I think I bought this at around Php110 and will definitely not buy again since it didn't do much on my skin.

Young Skin Plus Mask

It's Friday that means its weekend! Wohoo! But before going on complete weekend mode (though I am now, hehehe!) let me share to you one routine I do on weekend, using Mask sheet. I don't consider using a mask sheet a necessity. You could always forget it as long as you have a good moisturizer. But on days I want to indulge in pampering my skin, I rely on a good mask sheet ;) Finding a good mask sheet can be a difficult task. Filipinos don't used this. I never actually heard of this before not until I got introduced to Korean beauty goodies. I read that Koreans love to use mask sheet. That is why it is widely sold by every cosmetic brands they have. Ever since I tried it, I've been hooked up on it. 

Young Skin Plus Coenzyme Q10 Essence Mask

The cheapest mask I ever bought (Php10) :) Bought it over at ebay from bhappywithme. I don't know how much this is sold in Korea. Yes, it is made in Korea (according to the packaging). I do love this mask sheet. Though it doesn't have any active pimple-fighting ingredient I believe (since the packaging is written in Korean language, it is just my own judgment), it's still work for me. There was a tiny bit of irritation upon using but it subsided after a minute or so. It smells like baby powder but not overpowering at all. I left it on for about 20 minutes. There was no sticky feeling after removing the mask and any remaining moisture was absorbed well. The next morning I felt my skin soft and not too much oily. This is indeed an amazing mask. I wish this is readily available in the country.

The Face Shop Sheet Masks

Anytime from now we will have no lights/electricity again! grr! ... total blackness!... That's what happen 3 hours ago. I was writing this post when suddenly it was dark. This is due to the rotational blackout imposed by the energy department. So that would mean no internet for a few hours :( But since it's back, let me post a quick review on The Face Shop sheet masks I bought before and is overdue for a review.

Fresh Fruit Lemon, Herbal Therapy-Clarifying and Cereal Mung Bean

Fresh Fruit Lemon Mask Sheet

        Lemon containing impressive amount of vitamin C whitens dull skin and helps tighten enlarged pores. Great for oily skin

I bought this since this is good for oily skin. Again, I have an oily and acne-prone skin.  There were lots of mixed reaction on this. Some were happy while others were disappointed. And I'm on the disappointed team. I don't like this sheet mask. I remembered it was itchy on my face. It didn't do much on my skin :( This will never be on my shopping list for mask sheet to buy.

Herbal Therapy-Clarifying Mask Sheet in Tea Tree and Bergamot      

        Tea Tree & Bergamot are excellent for oily acne-prone skin as having strong sebum controlling.

This really caught my eyes since it has tea tree in it. I love anything that has tea tree. Tea tree does help in calming/soothing my acne-prone skin. Did this mask do anything on my face? Well no! There wasn't any soothing effect after 20 minutes of using this. But it didn't made my skin itch unlike the Lemon Mask. So it was just a plus point for no irritation.

Cereal Mung Bean Mask Sheet

        Soothing Mung Bean famous for its detoxifying quality soothes irritation and break-out of the skin while supplying protein-rich moisture. Great for oily acne-prone skin.

I had no idea that Mung Bean (Monggo in native language) can actually treat pimples. I just recently read this when searching for a good DIY mask for acne-prone skin. Now I understand why this mask actually works. It does help in soothing my already irritated skin. Though there wasn't much after using it but then since it help in soothing my skin I give it plus point.

Out of these three mask sheets, Mung Bean works for me. This will be on my list for mask sheet. These masks were sold at around Php90 a piece. I think with the price I'll only get Mung Bean again. Still Skin Food Herb Salad Mask Sheet tops my list :)

Movie time: G-Force and The Face Shop Hauls

Finally G-Force was shown in the country! I've been waiting for this for the longest time. I was able to watch it first on a dvd copy (pirated :p) But still I catch it on the local 3D cinema. This is my second time to watch a film on a 3D format and I'm loving it :)

The film is about a group of guinea pig, a mole and a fly who were trained to become Special Agents of the FBI. The group launched out a secret mission (without authority from their superior) on a home electronics and appliance magnate, Leonard Saber, who is being investigated by the FBI for years. They were able to get an important file that can be an evidence against him. However, on the day they report about it, the file was just about a coffee maker. And since there was no authority to execute the said mission, the group was disband and the facility was shut down. The animals were ordered to be captured and will be put on experiment and be killed. The group was able to escape but ended up on a pet shop. On the pet shop, they met a guinea pig, a hamster and a group of mice who ended up being part of the team :) They tried to escape from the shop in order to bring back their group and proved that they got a significant information and be part of the FBI again.

My verdict:

Popcorn: 5/5 popcorns

A film for everybody! Better watch this film on a 3D format. You'll surely enjoy the 3D effects. Very entertaining :) I have fun watching this movie with my friends and sisters :)




After watching the film, we went over to Face Shop :) and these are some stuffs I got. I always wanted to try their face masks. I've read lots of good reviews of it. I'll give my thoughts on these stuffs after I try them :)

Another product that I got is The Face Shop Changpo Hair Coating Essence. Nikki of Askmewhats is raving this product. Actually she is raving the whole line (lol!) I thought to try first on this and if it is good for my hair before I ventured out to the whole line hehehe! I'll review on it soon :)

Mask Sheet Review: Skin Food Herb Salad and Watsons Herbal Aloe Vera Stretchable

Mask Sheet is one of my favorite beauty regimen. So easy-to-use, hassle-free, convenient and not messy at all! :) The first time I used a face mask sheet, I never turned my back on it then! I have tried three mask sheets so far: Skin Food Herb Salad Mask Sheet, Watsons Herbal Aloe Vera Stretchable Mask, and a Japanese-made Mask Sheet (which I won't review because I don't know the name of the brand).

My sister bought a pair of this mask. I asked for the other one to try it. The mask has cooling sensation upon putting it on the face. However, my face felt itchy while and after using it. Made no difference on my face. Too much essence on the sheet that it feels sticky after using it.

My verdict:
Packaging: 5/5 stars (very likey the package ;) )
Performance: 1/5 stars
Price: 5/5 stars (Php 50+)

I wanted to love this mask sheet because it is affordable and I believe aloe vera is good for acne-prone, oily skin type. I felt sad that it didn't do anything on my face.

Skin Food Herb Salad Mask Sheet



The first mask sheet I tried from Skin Food. I bought it over at ebay for around Php 60. This mask is for sensitive skin. Since my skin is oily and acne-prone type, I went ahead and bought it to try help ease the freaking acnes on my face. I have my monthly period just recently so my enemies showed up (hehehe).

The sheet has a cooling sensation and does not sting at all. It smells like a herb (obviously from the name) which I kinda like :) It didn't left me any itchiness feeling compare to the other two mask sheets i tried so far. Though it didn't shrink or decrease my acne but it soothes the pain from the acne.

My verdict:
Packaging: 5/5 stars...
Performance: 4/5 stars...
Price: 5/5 stars (Php 60+)...

With continued use I believe this will help me in fighting my enemies! :)

I am still in search for the best mask sheet on the market right now. I want to try the mask sheets from The Face Shop because I read and heard a lot of good reviews of the masks. Hope to get my hands on them soon... hehehe :)
