Weekend Haul: Hair Care

Buying stuff for my hair is growing in me. I rarely go to salon to have my hair treated. I always on the look out for DIY or stuff that I can use while at home. It's cheaper and relaxing since I could do it in the comfort of our home. Yesterday, I went out buying some hair masks that would last me for a few weeks.

Cream Silk, Rejoice, L'Oreal and Shine Moist

It's all in sachet except for the Shine Moist. I love products that comes also in small sachet to try out their product first. At least I don't have to splurge myself on them first if they end up being bad to me. In this way, I know which one is right for me. I'll review this babies once I'll try them out.

It's Monday! Thank God I survived it. Hopefully the same with the rest of the week :)

Nature Republic Scalsys Shampoo And Conditioner

Keeping my hair healthy is important to me. Healthy hair means beautiful hair :) No doubt about it! That is why I'm always on the constant look for hair products that will work wonders on my crowning glory. Of course I have to ask myself first: what is my hair problem or issue? 

My hair has always been bad to me. I have thick, dry, wavy hair before I got it rebonded. Right now my hair is showing signs of curliness (it's time for a visit to my salon), dryness and thinning. Yes, I'm having some hair loss problem :( Aside from this my scalp is oily and easily get dandruff :( So I need a shampoo and conditioner that fights dandruff, moisturize my hair and keep it strong. I don't need a shampoo that promises straighter hair (for the curliness) when you know that it won't straighten it at all. I also need something to tame those untamed ones. Did I found one? Well, today I'll review hair products, shampoo and conditioner to be specific, that's been lying in my cabinet for awhile. If I didn't clean my cabinet like two-weeks ago, I wouldn't find this at all nor remember it. I think it is waiting to be reviewed (hehehe!).

Nature Republic had a massive summer sale last June 2010. I got this on sale (I'm not sure if its 30% or 50% off) via one of my fave online store: kkochipida. Since I have been having issue on my oily scalp at that time, I was on hunt on new hair products for scalp problem. Good thing this was on sale so I grabbed the opportunity then. So how was it? Since I was very much accustomed to the minty feel of using Head and Shoulder Green Menthol Shampoo, I was expecting for a minty feel too upon application. I was disappointed because there weren't that much minty action. Well I can't blame it since it did not say any cool menthol included. Probably because of the word Refresh on its name. That freshness after using it, wasn't really a fresh feeling but it was okay. The conditioner is also okay in moisturizing my hair. But then I need more especially the lower part due to dryness :( Over all this is just an okay shampoo but in getting those dandruff away is a no-no. I think my trusty Head and Shoulder is still on top. Though I have used one from Elianto before but I forgot to review it since my sister took it without my permission from my cabinet. The next thing I know its empty :( But the few times I used it, I did like it. I'll probably get one soon :) As for the packaging, I did not expect this to be that huge or should I say stout. The bottom part of the bottle is rounded that makes it huge and doesn't really fits inside my little bath basket :( If only they'll just make it slimmer and taller rather than short yet stout :-/ It comes in a pump-type bottle.

As I am writing this, the news on the devastation of a tsunami due to the 8.9-magnitude earthquake that hits Japan is everywhere. I pray for the Japanese people to be able to find strength to stand up again. Though I know they can :) Be safe everybody!

Our hair is our crowning glory. For me, healthy hair is next to healthy skin. No matter how good your skin is if your hair is bad it still goes down to BAD! We don't want that. That is why hair care is also important as skin care :) I have used a lot of shampoo and conditioners. Some were excellent while others were okay and there were also the bad ones. I hate this! These made my hair really bad :( So disappointed that it doesn't deliver what is supposed to do. Shine? Not at all! The shampoo made my hair dry. It lacks moisture that my hair is not easy to manage after. I give this 0.5 stars and the other 1.5 stars will be for the conditioner. At least the conditioner gives back the lost moisture but again same thing with shampoo my hair is unmanageable after :( Both have good, yummy scents :) But then again its what it can deliver is the important thing here. I  bought this for around Php 200++ for both at the local Watson store. To pay for a product that isn't working well is a disappointment. It comes in huge bottles. Again, I like my conditioner if it's in upside-down bottle-type packaging for the product to come out easily. There is no way for me to buy this again. I'm thinking of not getting the other variant from St Ives hair lines.

Shiseido Tsubaki

Shampoos and conditioners are important to me in my everyday life. They will always be my life-saver on my daily hair needs. I can't go to the salon everyday or else there will be a big hole in my pockets (hahaha!). I have already shared my thoughts on the famous red Tsubaki conditioner, but today I'm sharing my thoughts on the white one, Shiseido Tsubaki for Damage Care.

I like this compare to the red one because it smells better. This made my hair really smooth and manageable. Plus it doesn't give me any itchy scalp :) Definitely a hair products :) I got a 200ml bottle of each though the packaging is the same as the red one. I just like this size because at least I can carry it with me when I travel. I bought this with me on my Bora escapade and it helps in keeping my hair manageable the whole day :) It's entirely love-love-love <3 This is not readily available locally rather you can get this from online shops. I think I got both for roughly Php 500 over at femalenetwork market. Will I repurchase this? Well I will but I want to try the Head Spa line first :)

It will be party-madness for me for the coming days :) December is always a party month for me because of parties to attend to almost everyday! Yikes! Must get lots of energy then (hehehe!). 

Shiseido Super Mild

Hair problem is an everyday dilemma :( Looking for the right hair care like shampoo, conditioner, mask, etc. is not easy. Finding one is a eureka moment :) That was how I felt when I met Supermild :) I bought a set of Supermild that consists of the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask last May. And I'm happy to report that I'm done with both the shampoo and conditioner. I still have the hair mask around 1/4 remaining. The shampoo and conditioner lasted for almost 3 months. Since I have already reviewed the conditioner, I'll just share my thoughts on the shampoo and mask.

Love, love, love this! It does wonders to my hair. It keep those oily and ugly dandruff at bay. It does make my hair smooth, manageable and a bit shiny. This isn't too moisturizing which works well for my hair since it is more on the oily side but there are times my hair feels dry and when I used this it brings back moisture to my hair :) Though it is also good for dry hair but then if your hair is too dry, I think this won't work well with your hair. I love using the mask especially when my hair starts to become itchy. It does help in soothing my scalp and do remove dandruff on your hair plus giving you a smoother and more manageable hair. I usually pair it up with an anti-dandruff shampoo which is usually Head and Shoulder. I got the huge bottle(600 ml) but there are smaller bottles and refills available. I bought the shampoo and conditioner at Php550 each while the mask is around Php400 from the TLC shop. However, they don't seem to have pre-order for this lately and that made me sad because I can't find this locally and I can't find sellers for this :( If you know anybody selling this, please do tell me :)

Sunsilk Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner

Remember when I got my Sunsilk freebies last week? Sunsilk and Thomas Taw teamed up to create a hair care line for dry and damaged-hair. Thomas is an entrepreneurial stylist from London and considered to be a damaged repair hair expert. Well it's been a week worth of use already. So how was it on my hair?

I don't consider my hair to be damaged even though it had been rebonded last November 2009. I never felt my hair to be dry rather it can be oily and unmanageable in some days. Though I still grabbed on those moisturizing one but I simply need something that could stop the oiliness and keep it frizz-free :) Sad to say this line doesn't do anything on my hair. The bad thing is that it gave me itchy, dandruff scalp :( I have to grab a very reliant dandruff shampoo, Head and Shoulder and Elianto Scalp-care shampoos, to remove those pesky dandruff. The shampoo was not moisturizing enough for my hair. It made my hair unmanageable so the conditioner was a saver for it. But when my hair is completely dry out (air-dry), it seems to become unmanageable and I didn't felt it to be moisturized well :( Though it smell nice and does not overpower :) The packaging were nice. There are different color for different hair needs that Sunsilk launched. I don't know the exact price of these since I got these for free :) Even though I got these for free, I'm not gonna buy these again but I may buy the other variant that fits completely my hair needs.

I know I've just reviewed a hair care product yesterday. I can't help it! I'm into hair care lately. I just suddenly had this concern for my hair. One product that I just had recently is the Skin Hour Dandruff-Free Shampoo.

I got this product because I need a new dandruff care shampoo. I have always been a Head and Shoulder babe. It works wonder on my itchy scalp. But one day it just lost its power against my stubborn scalp :( My hair has this ability to get immune to a product that I have to change it once in a while. Anyways, I got this product from a bazaar last December. I already did finished the whole bottle. So did I like it?

Skin Hour is an organic, herbal and natural line of personal care and spa products that contain no unnecessary additives, preservatives, harmful chemicals and paraben. This is my first time to try on an organic hair product and since this does not contain any SLS, don't expect for a foamy shampoo. This is my problem though because I have to pour a lot of the product in order to feel my hair was shampooed well. I can't use this alone for it makes my hair really dry :( I need a good conditioner when I used this. I usually used this on a weekly basis or twice a week then use a deep moisturizing conditioner after. The good thing about this product is that it helps in relieving itchiness in my scalp.

It is a good dandruff shampoo. The packaging wasn't that appealing to me. It has this weird object inside the shampoo. I don't know what it is. This cost Php230 for a 150 ml bottle.  It is quite expensive for me. But then it works fine in soothing my scalp. 

Will I buy it again? Not now, I just bought a new scalp care shampoo which is Elianto. Probably when I get some of their other products.

After reading Nikki's review on these I just had the sudden urge to try them. I bought a set which cost around Php600 and which is cheaper compare to buying separately which cost around Php 800. Great deal indeed :) I love how it makes my hair soft and tangle-free. My hair was rebonded last November and I want to keep my hair straight and shiny. This product doesn't really make your hair straight but rather it keeps those frizzes at bay and add shine to your hair. It doesn't weigh down my hair and it helps control my hair fall :) This line is amazing! I have already finished two sets of it. My sisters love it too!

I tried to buy this product straight from Korea, but these are already being discontinued there :( I better stock up some of these if that's the case. Well I hope they won't discontinue these here. These are one of their bestsellers here so these must be kept! I wish they'll just revamp the package. I prefer my conditioner to be on an upside-down design. In that way it is easier for the conditioner to pour out since it is quite thicker compare to the shampoo's texture. But everything is fine then :)

Right now I'm changing my shampoo and conditioner. I cannot stay on same product forever. I have to routinely change my products or else it won't do good anymore on my hair or skin :( I'm currently using Elianto Scalp Care Shampoo and Shiseido Tsubaki. I'll give my review on these two soon :)

So have you tried this hair care line? If you haven't, grab one now before Face Shop remove it on the shelves :( By the way, this line has two range. The other one is the Changpo Wave Volume Up Shampoo and Conditioner. I think this is for wavy and curly hair.

Goodbye 2009 ... Hello 2010 ...

Time flies by so fast. The next thing you know, it's another year already (waahhh!). It's too bad that it moves so fast when we haven't yet finished enjoying the year before it :( There were a lot of good and bad memories I have in 2009. I'm happy I went through all of it because they help me change in a positive way :) I just would like to share the things that went through my life last year. I got this idea from my friend's blog, Romeo, and I like it.

Looking back at the past, made me realized that there were a lot of things that happened to me on the year of the Ox. A lot of blessings came, challenges and trials that push me, events that mark not only in me but to others as well, a lot of first times. These help me grow to a better person and definitely there will be a lot more to anticipate in the year of the Tiger. I'm pretty sure the events that will come my way this year will make me even more better :) My learning doesn't stop there. It will go on and on and on. Every year has a new piece to learn, a new beginning to ponder, a new skill to discover and develop. I know God has installed an exciting year not only for me but for all of us :) God is good! (all the time!)

So how was year 2009 to you guys? Any expectation in 2010?

Movie time: G-Force and The Face Shop Hauls

Finally G-Force was shown in the country! I've been waiting for this for the longest time. I was able to watch it first on a dvd copy (pirated :p) But still I catch it on the local 3D cinema. This is my second time to watch a film on a 3D format and I'm loving it :)

The film is about a group of guinea pig, a mole and a fly who were trained to become Special Agents of the FBI. The group launched out a secret mission (without authority from their superior) on a home electronics and appliance magnate, Leonard Saber, who is being investigated by the FBI for years. They were able to get an important file that can be an evidence against him. However, on the day they report about it, the file was just about a coffee maker. And since there was no authority to execute the said mission, the group was disband and the facility was shut down. The animals were ordered to be captured and will be put on experiment and be killed. The group was able to escape but ended up on a pet shop. On the pet shop, they met a guinea pig, a hamster and a group of mice who ended up being part of the team :) They tried to escape from the shop in order to bring back their group and proved that they got a significant information and be part of the FBI again.

My verdict:

Popcorn: 5/5 popcorns

A film for everybody! Better watch this film on a 3D format. You'll surely enjoy the 3D effects. Very entertaining :) I have fun watching this movie with my friends and sisters :)




After watching the film, we went over to Face Shop :) and these are some stuffs I got. I always wanted to try their face masks. I've read lots of good reviews of it. I'll give my thoughts on these stuffs after I try them :)

Another product that I got is The Face Shop Changpo Hair Coating Essence. Nikki of Askmewhats is raving this product. Actually she is raving the whole line (lol!) I thought to try first on this and if it is good for my hair before I ventured out to the whole line hehehe! I'll review on it soon :)
