Shiseido Tsubaki

Shampoos and conditioners are important to me in my everyday life. They will always be my life-saver on my daily hair needs. I can't go to the salon everyday or else there will be a big hole in my pockets (hahaha!). I have already shared my thoughts on the famous red Tsubaki conditioner, but today I'm sharing my thoughts on the white one, Shiseido Tsubaki for Damage Care.

Shiseido Tsubaki Damage Care Shampoo and Conditioner

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 3/5 stars

I like this compare to the red one because it smells better. This made my hair really smooth and manageable. Plus it doesn't give me any itchy scalp :) Definitely a hair products :) I got a 200ml bottle of each though the packaging is the same as the red one. I just like this size because at least I can carry it with me when I travel. I bought this with me on my Bora escapade and it helps in keeping my hair manageable the whole day :) It's entirely love-love-love <3 This is not readily available locally rather you can get this from online shops. I think I got both for roughly Php 500 over at femalenetwork market. Will I repurchase this? Well I will but I want to try the Head Spa line first :)

It will be party-madness for me for the coming days :) December is always a party month for me because of parties to attend to almost everyday! Yikes! Must get lots of energy then (hehehe!).

Skin Food Tea Tree Facial Cleansers

Waahhh! It's been awhile since my last update and the next thing I know its November already. I've been busy lately, trying to catch up on stuff that needed to be done because I'll be going on a week-long vacation next week :). I hope I'll be able to accomplish it all before that day comes (cross-fingers).

As I was looking at the stuffs I need to bring, I noticed that one of my facial cleansers is almost empty. I realized I have never reviewed this when this had been with me for almost a year now. This is the Skin Food Tea Tree Cleansing Foam. I used to have the bubble foam one. I'll share my thoughts on both cleansers. What's the difference?

Skin Food Tea Tree Cleansing and Bubble Foam

Contains tea tree extract, a natural antibacterial agent,
and AHA to effectively exfoliate dead skin with deep cleansing.

My say:
Performance: 4/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 3/5 stars

I had the bubble foam cleanser first before I venture on the other one. I'm happy to say that both works well with my skin. They help in fighting those unwanted zits plus help soothe troubled skin :) There is a refreshing feeling after and gives a smooth skin. Doesn't leave tight-feeling nor irritations. My only problem is that after a few months of using, my skin tends to get immune to it that I have to simply switch to another cleanser. And this is the reason why they get to stay for an entire year or so.  But recently I use different cleanser in the morning and the evening. I use this in the morning and an Etude House cleanser at night (which I'll hopefully review soon). I noticed then that my skin don't get immune to it anymore. So I changed my habit of using one cleanser. Though I still would love to use just one facial cleanser. The packaging is okay. My only problem is with the bubble foam which tends to leak when I bring it with me on my travels. But I don't know if it really is a problem or maybe my bottle just tends to leak. I think I got the cleansing foam at around Php300 via a pre-order and the bubble one at around Php700 at the local Skin Food store. The bubble foam is much cheaper if bought directly from Korea. Overall, there's no difference between the two. I'm happy with both cleansers and would love to use it again. But I got my eye on Innisfree Apple Juicy Liquid Foaming Cleanser and I'm finishing up first my Etude cleanser plus my sister just gave me a J&J cleanser :)

Too much papers to finish up plus my system is still killing me :( I hope this will not give me horrible skin (hehehe!). How was your day? Hope not like mine.

Shiseido Super Mild

Hair problem is an everyday dilemma :( Looking for the right hair care like shampoo, conditioner, mask, etc. is not easy. Finding one is a eureka moment :) That was how I felt when I met Supermild :) I bought a set of Supermild that consists of the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask last May. And I'm happy to report that I'm done with both the shampoo and conditioner. I still have the hair mask around 1/4 remaining. The shampoo and conditioner lasted for almost 3 months. Since I have already reviewed the conditioner, I'll just share my thoughts on the shampoo and mask.

Super Mild Series (don't mind Biore... hehehe!)

My say (for both shampoo and mask):
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

Love, love, love this! It does wonders to my hair. It keep those oily and ugly dandruff at bay. It does make my hair smooth, manageable and a bit shiny. This isn't too moisturizing which works well for my hair since it is more on the oily side but there are times my hair feels dry and when I used this it brings back moisture to my hair :) Though it is also good for dry hair but then if your hair is too dry, I think this won't work well with your hair. I love using the mask especially when my hair starts to become itchy. It does help in soothing my scalp and do remove dandruff on your hair plus giving you a smoother and more manageable hair. I usually pair it up with an anti-dandruff shampoo which is usually Head and Shoulder. I got the huge bottle(600 ml) but there are smaller bottles and refills available. I bought the shampoo and conditioner at Php550 each while the mask is around Php400 from the TLC shop. However, they don't seem to have pre-order for this lately and that made me sad because I can't find this locally and I can't find sellers for this :( If you know anybody selling this, please do tell me :)

Happy Weekend!

O Hui Clear Science Gentle Face Scrub

These past weeks my skin doesn't cooperate much with me. Tired and dull skin has been haunting me for awhile not until I met O Hui. O Hui is a Korean cosmetic brand under the LG DeBon. It is a premium cosmetic brand that promotes beauty of modern people by bringing together the principles of cosmos and nature and modern science and technology.

O HUI Clear Science Gentle Face Scrub acts in two ways to provide more effective care for the skin. It acts as a scrub for fine impurities on the skin's surface and inside pores and as a scrub to remove dead skin cells. The flavonoids from lily juice contained in the soft gel provide astringent and moisturizing effects for a low-irritation peel and help keep the skin radiant and translucent. (source)

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 3/5 stars

I love this facial scrub! It really does help in scrubbing those unwanted dirt and dead skin. My skin feels so soft, smooth and refresh. I felt that it revealed a new me :) I got a sample of this but this comes in a plastic-tube type container. Since this brand is considered luxury, then I believe this is expensive. But I don't know how much it really costs since its hard to look for an online seller of this. Though I found one which is a US-based online shop and this is sold at $39. I'm still looking for an online seller that sells this on a reasonable price :) (goodluck to me finding that person!)

Etude House AC Clinic Toner

I know I've been MIA for a month. Too much work kept me busy with life. Hopefully, I could regularly visit my blog from now on. Anyways since its past I have to move on and share to you today one toner that help in decreasing those nasty zits. Introducing the Etude House AC Clinic Toner...

  •  Formulated with Salicylic Acid and Hinoki Cypress extract, AC Clinic Toner clarifies and soothes troubled skin for moist, cleansed sensation all day long.
  • Non-Comedogenic
  • Dermatologist Tested
Active Ingredients: Salicylic Acid and Hinoki Cypress extract

My say:
Performance: 4/5 stars
Packaging: 3/5 stars
Pricing: 3/5 stars

I love this toner because it does help in decreasing those pesky zits. Salicylic Acid does help in fighting bacteria that cause acne. I'm glad that I'm not allergic to it for this product works well for me. I used this in the morning since I'm using another toner at night. No tight-feeling nor stinging sensation after or while using it. It helps in drying out those ugly zits and calms my troubled skin. I don't like its huge glass-bottle container because I'm always on alert while holding this for I'm afraid I might dropped it. It's kinda heavy to bring along so I don't bring this with me when I go out of town or on vacation rather I transfer some of it on a small container. But I wish they just come in a plastic bottle so that even when I'm on my clumsy days it won't easily break (hehehe!). I got this on a steal price from a gtalker. She seems to be selling some of her unused stuffs and this is one of them. This comes with the facial foam and both are just Php 200! This is sold more than Php400 at Etude House stores here. So when this was sold in an amazing low price, I immediately bought it :) I think Korean products are over-priced outside Korea.

It's good to be back in my cyberhome :)

Johnson & Johnson Active Clear Acne Control Cleanser

Weekend-weekend-weekend... hahaha! I'm just so happy because we have a long weekend here in the country. Three days of relaxation and be stress-free :) I'm enjoying the day and just be on my pj and lying lazily in bed while watching my favorite show or dvd I have. Waahhh! So relaxing and fun! Anyways since I have nothing to do (but jump in joy, hehehe) I'll just visit my cy-home and share to you one product I just recently done using and it's a Johnson & Johnson facial cleanser.

Johnson & Johnson Active Clear Acne Control Cleanser
  • salicylic acid acne formula that helps clear and prevent breakoputs fights acne-causing bacteria.
  • oil-free
  • non comedegenic
  • non-drying

My say:

Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 3/5 stars

I have a love-and-hate relationship with JnJ products. Some of its products works really well with my skin while others are a disappointment. Good thing this product is on a positive note:) My friend gave this to me together with the speed gel since she wasn't happy using this. I think not everybody will be happy using this. It depends on how your skin will react. But in my case, I have no terrible reactions nor any new bumps and it does help in lessening bumps as well as keep them away. It contains salicylic acid as its main ingredient which really helps in fighting those horrible bumps. I feel fresh after using this. No tight feeling nor dryness. It has a gel-liquid texture and some medicated scent which isn't really noticeable. It comes in a huge yet slender silver plastic tube which is okay to bring along. This is included in the JnJ Active Clear Acne Control set and cannot be bought separately. I really like this that I wish JnJ will sold this separately since I'm done with it. I have no plan of buying the whole set since I'm not gonna use the toner and moisturizer that come along with it. It is just not worth it for me.

Enjoy your weekend :)

Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream

It's been awhile since I have updated my blog. The Holy Month of Ramadhan is being observed  by millions of Muslims around the world including me :) I really had no time to update my blog since I have to sleep early in order for me to wake up at least 3 in the morning. I don't also have time at work since my work is piling up :( Well not today! hehehe!

I've been using bb creams for more than a year now. Yes I already did join the bb cream bandwagon. Finding the right one that perfectly suits your skin color, able to hide some skin problems and doesn't add up to that problem is definitely not easy. It's a try and test situation all the time. I have tried from different brands but only fell in love with Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream.

Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

This is the best bb cream I have tried so far. Even my sister love this that she had been hooked up with the bb cream mania then. The color looks to be lighter but blends well with my skin upon application. This is one concern with most  bb creams since it comes in one or two shades and still in lighter shades. Upon application you'll look too lighter then your skin color (in your neck) but blends after a few minutes. This a problem if I'm in a hurry and I have no time to wait for another few minutes especially when I know I'm gonna be late for work. But with this bb cream blending issues is much appreciated ;) I didn't get any pimple problem while using this. Though there were bumps but I can't blame it because it was more on hormonal issues (menstruation period = new bumps). It didn't also help in aggravating the problem. I like how it helps in covering up some skin issues of mine like my pore size and acne marks but not totally cover it up. But I can understand this since most bb creams have really light coverage and I have no plan of using a foundation because I find it more heavy on my skin. Though you can apply more for more heavy cover and I find it doesn't cake up. I find this to be on above average with  regards to oiliness. But a simple retouch of my powder, I'm good to go :) The only downside on this is it's lack of SPF. A lot of bb creams in the market have at least an SPF 15 which can be a plus factor. But it's not a major issue since I always put on sunblock before my bb cream. I like the pump-type packaging which can be hygienic but you still need to clean the tip because it can leave some marks on the cap. I bought this on sale at around Php 600 and it last long :) I'm almost done using this and yes I did bought a back up but until now I haven't received it :( This is not locally available. I got mine from TLC Shop as a pre-order. Though they sometimes do have stocks but they more prefer pre-orders.

I consider bb creams more as make-up rather then skin care since you still need to remove that at the end of the day. With regards to helping in some skin issues, I cannot attest to it eventhough I've been  using bb creams for more than a year now. Some bb creams could give a bad reaction while others don't. I'm happy not a single bb cream I've tried gave me any negative reaction.

Have you already join the bb cream mania? Still on the look for the best bb cream? I'm still on the look but hope this will help you :)

Baviphat Mango Magic Brightening Mask

Facial masks come in different type. Others can be hassle-free, while others can be messy. I definitely like those convenient one that all you need to do is to splat it on your face without any messy mixing needed. Though it can still be messy upon application but the convenient of a ready-to-use mask is really efficient especially when you're too lazy to make a DIY mask. Thanks goodness to those brands that make our lives easy :)

Mask is very important for a better skin. They add moisture and help in clearing those skin issues that we have. One mask I tumbled upon and wanted to try is the Baviphat Mango Brightening mask.

Baviphat Mango Brightening Mask

skin purification + Brightening + Oxygen bubble

*Fine oxygen bubble cleans any wastes in skin and brightens skin
*Detox care
My say:

Performance: 2/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

I don't see nor felt any difference in my face after using this. This is just a so-so-so mask. Nothing special to it. Good thing I got a sample of this to try. This what's good with samples. You'll be able to try first the product before committing your much-hard earn money ;) I absolutely salute companies that give samples to customers to try out their product first. In this case we know if its best to use it to our skin :) Since this is a sample, this is not the original packaging. The original package comes in a cute yellow tub type. I'm not sure how much is this but I got this sample for less than Php 20 from ebay seller bhappywithme. I'm not thinking of buying a full tub of this since it doesn't do anything to me :(

How was you're weekend so far? Hope you're all enjoying it :)

Shine Keeper: The Face Shop Span Matte Compact Powder

Wow tomorrow would be Friday! That means its the last day for the week. Time is flying so fast the next thing you know its weekend then its Monday again (hahaha!). This week is pretty stressful since deadlines were everywhere :( I don't want to think about it for awhile so let me immerse in this little home I have over at cyberspace :)

It's nice to be able to finish a product. You know that it did somehow work for you. In my case, I usually finish a product if it works fine with me like no breakout and a bit of improvement. I sometimes finish something just because I need to get the worth of my money (hahaha!). One product that I'm done with is The Face Shop Span Matte Compact Powder.

 my doggie-doggie likes it :)

The Face Shop Span Matte Compact Powder

  • Inspired by water drops this light-weight base makeup line is formulated with tropical fruits that prevents allergy and dryness.
  • Containing silicon this powder gives sheer natural looking coverage with high water retention. Skin looks clean and polished all day never cakey. Sheer to Medium coverage.

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

This is a good pact and I'm happy that I have tried this. It does its job in keeping my skin away from that ugly oiliness. It keeps shine-free up to 4 hours :) That is okay for me since I always do retouch every after 4 hours and it doesn't cake up. No break out for me :) Well I did break out when using this but I do not blame this pact since its totally hormonal issue. I got the number 21 shade and it perfectly fits my skin shade. Its very light that it gives a transparent color thus blending well with my skin :) I do like the design of the pact. Its comes in a petal-like pact case and it's in color pink! The only downside is the case that separates the puff from the powder. It comes with a plastic that wasn't built with the case. It can be inconvenient and less hygienic since you have to completely remove the case and there are tendency it could fall down on a dirty surface and thus you have to clean it :( I wish they made a built-in separate case just like the other pact I had. I bought this for almost Php 600 (I'm not quite sure) at local face Shop stores.

I hope tomorrow would be less stressful. Enjoy your Thursday night :)

Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask - Tea Tree

Monday is back :( Weekend is over and I'm back in this small cubicle of mine. Well stressful week is smiling at me. Argh! I always prepared myself for the week ahead in order to reduce that stress. Why does my work always had stress by its side?!? Well every job will always have stress with them. I think they go together (hahaha!). One thing I always prepare is my skin. And what better to use is a nice sheet mask. Yesterday I used Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask in Tea Tree.

Missha Pure Source Sheet Mask - Tea Tree

Pure cotton sheet mask to deliver pure nature.
It is enriched with tea tree ingredient, makes your skin fresh and clear.

My say:
Performance: 3.5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

This mask is for anti-trouble. I'm not very much happy using this mask. It didn't help in soothing the only pimple I had. A bit of itchiness on my lower chin but it subsided in a few minutes. Good thing I didn't break out but then it did nothing to help in minimizing the only pimple I had :( I like the sheet size though because it fits my face well. This has no irritating scent. It felt a bit sticky after 20 minutes but it easily absorbed by my skin :) I think this is still worth it to buy but for now I need something that will help in minimizing my pores and lighten some acne marks.

I hope you all had a good day today :)

Dermstrata Erythromycin Solution

Finding the perfect product that suits your skin needs is very difficult. Trial and error will always be there. Trying stuff hoping it will give miracles and won't give any negative issues. I think this is what we should always do in finding for that right product that suits our skin. Holy Grail products are difficult to find. Finding one would mean finding a treasure that is to be kept for life. And I'm happy to tell you that I found my HG toner that suits me perfectly :) My current HG toner: Dermstrata Erythromycin Solution.

Dermstrata Erythromycin Solution

Erythromycin Solution is a topical macrolide antibiotic that is thought to improve acne by slowing the growth of bacteria on the skin. (www.drugs.com)

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 3/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

Thanks to my siblings for introducing this to me. I started using this after my first (evah!) glycolic peel at Dermstrata, a local skin clinic and spa. I'm very much happy that this help in my acne issues a lot. Ever since I've used this I have no more huge pimples. Yes I still get pimples occasionally but after a day or two, they are gone. This is to be used every night or else you may end up having a red face like my sister who never asked first how to use this. This is a derma-formulated product so they don't really thought on their packaging. I wish they give it a make-over to give it a bit of a kick. But who really cares since what is important is how well it does its job. I bought this at Php 250 and it seems to easily get out of stock. I think the price is okay considering that you only use it once a day and it lasts for more or less 3 months.

Have you found your HG toner? Do you have acne issues? Perhaps you want to try this.

Sun Guard: Biore Perfect Face Milk

Finally I'm able to update my blog :) It was hell this past weeks as a storm hit the country plus the tight schedule work I have. But then that is past so I need to move on and be thankful to God that I'm still surviving and updating my blog (hehehe!).

Rainy season is here. No more sun or should I say there will be less sun. Of course the sun doesn't leave us rather we just rotate around it (elementary science, remember?!? hehehe). Does this mean sun rays ain't that harsh anymore? So is it okay not to wear sunblock anymore? Simple answer, NO! and NO! No matter what there will always be the sun. It's rays will always be harmful to us that is why a good sun defense is needed for the rest of our lives. And sunblock will always be the best weapon against it :) My current favorite sunblock is Biore Perfect Milk Face SPF 50PA+++.

Biore Perfect Face Milk SPF 50 PA+++

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars
Packaging: 4.5/stars

I love this sunblock so much that I bought a back up right away which I ended up giving to my sister :( But I'll buy again soon since this is available locally but only through online shops. This is best for oily skin babes like me. It doesn't leave any greasy feel nor greasy look. It has a watery texture and in color white yet no white cast since it blends well with the skin. It is a good make-up base since it gives a matte finish. Perfect if you're in hurry because it acts as two products in one (sunblock and primer/make-up base). There is an alcohol scent to it but very light and bearable. No break out for me! I bought this for Php550 at TLC shop through a pre-order but you can buy this readily at wehaveit43 with the same price. I believe this is much cheaper if bought directly from Japan. The price is not a big issue to me since it works very well :) I like the packaging since it fits in my bag perfectly. It is small and quite slim which fits also in my purse :)  I only wish that it comes in a transparent container so that at least I would know if I am running out of it.

No matter if it is raining or sunny or your at home away from the sun, you still need to arm yourself with sunblock. Even the lights at our homes can harm our poor skin. So make it a habit to put on sunblock into your daily life :)

Have a wonderful weekend ahead :)

sale and giveaway...

July could only mean one thing to me, S-A-L-E!!! It's mid-year sale here in the country (usually by the end of the month, though there are already sales going on). Singapore and Malaysia are still on their Mega sale, I believe. My favorite online seller, Charmaine is doing pre-orders to Korean cosmetics summer sale. The past weeks there had been sales on the likes of Etude House, Nature Republic and now Missha. Ooohh... They are cutting off as much as 50%! Wow! Great savings indeed and I'm going nuts about it, hehehe! I love Korean cosmetics even Japanese brand. I'm very much suited to their products. Perhaps because they were intended for Asian people :) So if you want to buy some items from Missha at a lower price visit her website then :)

Another great news for Korean lovers (like me!), ELLI DUVOLLE is having a great giveaway! She's giving some Korean cosmetics to a lucky one worth $60! Anything you want so long it's worth $60, of course. If you are lemming on something and seems you can't get your hands on it, well this is your chance. Do visit her site to know more the details :)

I'm joining this. I wish I'm in Korea right now and enjoying those fabulous sale, kekeke! I think I need to save up then for it to happen. Ooohhh, this will be difficult.

blah-blah-blah

It's very late by the time I'm writing this down. I need to sleep now since tomorrow is the start for work-week. Horrible Monday is coming in less than an hour :( What's even more sadder is that I can't update my blog for awhile in the office since they cut out our internet connection in the office. Well they'll bring it back after I get to request for it. I'll leave that to my acting-boss (since my real-boss is on leave for a year) to do the necessary things. Well I wish and I hope they'll give me back the connection soon (cross-fingers). I don't feel going to the office tomorrow. I want to stay home and be lazy the whole day. I'm thinking now if I'll go to work. My-my-my! Decision should be made now. Ugh! I'm torn between two things. I need to go to work because I have a deadline to meet. I don't need to go to work since there is an issue raised by PNoy that what I'm doing would just end up to be a waste. Well I'm currently doing the payroll system of our Daily-Waged (Casual) employees. Well it is due by the end of the month. With the new government we have in the country, there is a strong belief that these casual employees will be relieved from their work. And it's been speculated that it will be by next month. I don't really know how to react when I heard this. I want to scream but with happiness? Since I don't need to get serious with my system anymore and stop doing what I'm doing. With agony? I've been working on this system for more than a year already and it will all be just a waste! With sadness? More than 300 people will lose their job. And most of them are breadwinners. I really don't know and I just want the truth now since I'm also not at ease with it. Waaahhhh! I wish they could tell me now what is going on or what will really happen. There are other works I need to do also. I have three systems with me and two are needed by the end of the month. Though the payroll system is much important compare to the other one. But in this case I don't know which one I'll need to put more effort. I don't know why I'm ranting right now. Maybe because these are my deep thoughts as of the moment and I need to get it out so that at least I could feel at ease, don't you think so?

Well I think I just go to the office, unless my menstrual cramps will stop me (hehehe, 2nd day is the worst!), and face my work. I'll just get through with the system whether it will be used or not. I'll also give more time to the other system so that I could finish it soon (I hope this week). Life is so complicated! I hope I could get over this soon :) (Please Lord...)

Take care guys! :)

sands, kick, fangs, guns, toy

I've been reviewing more movies lately since there are a lot of good movies that is running in our local cinemas. I have watch several movies over the past weeks. These movies are well received in the country that some had long queue.  These movies are prince of Persia: the Sand of Time, Karate Kid, Twilight Saga: Eclipse, The A-Team and Toy Story 3.

Popcorn: 5/5 popcorn

I really had no idea how great this film is. My friend and I just roamed around the mall and ended watching this. We were so happy when we got out the cinema because we didn't expected that it would be that great. Though I read a lot of positive tweets around twitter but I never expected for it to be that good :) This film is a video game adaptation of the same name. Jake Gyllenhaal is smoking-hot in this film. Those abs and muscles, whew! hahaha!

Popcorn: 5/5 popcorn

I have watched this film last month. I never expected this film to be that good. My expectation wasn't that high. I only watched this because my sister wanted me to accompany her to watch this. Good thing she took me with her because this is an amazing film. The story was really great. Jaden Smith (the young kid) acted out well. He was really real on his actions. Amazing kid with a fantastic martial arts moves. I felt weird watching Jackie Chan doing a serious role. I did miss his comical sides but then he was still a great actor. I had read from wikipedia that Sony Pictures is planning to do a sequel due to its success.  This is a great film that children (and even adults) would learn a big lesson.

Popcorn: 5/5 popcorn

This film is madness in the country. Every cinema in town is fully booked that its difficult to get a ticket! Good thing my beautiful elder sister gave me a free ticket to an event for an exclusive screening on Eclipse. She couldn't make it because she was out of town. Eclipse is my favorite book from the Twilight saga. It was the only book that has actions in it. I was looking for more actions in this series and only the third book has it. The film was able to adapt the book very well. Its cinematography is great. The casts (new and old) were also fantastic. The director of this film is a horror film director. No doubt there were this chilling sound, moves and angles that you would usually encounter in an horror film. Edward and Jacob rivalry has increased. There is only one scene I find Edward to look god. Its the scene where Edward and Jacob are talking while Bella was sleeping inside the tent. perhaps he seems to look messy through out the film and that was the only scene where he looks clean (hehehe). But I'm still on Team Edward (hehehe).Overall, Twilight has improved big time.

Popcorn: 3.5/5 popcorn

I have a comic book of this film. I had no idea what it was nor how popular the comic was. It was even adapted to a television series and now a film adaptation. I was excited to watch this since I did love the comic book. It fell short on my expectation. Though the film was good but it felt like something is missing or lacking on this film. There seems to be some doubts for a sequel to come out soon. Well I hope there will be and I hope to see an improvement in this film.

Popcorn: 5/5 popcorn

After a decade a new Toy Story was released. I can't believed how long the second installment was. I was on my first year high school then. But the long wait was worth it. This film is really great. In fairness, all of the Toy Story series have great screenplay. Kudos to the writers! This is fantastic that you should bring your family and the whole gang to watch this. Amazing lessons that make us think the importance of something we valued.

These were some of the movies I have watched and there are still some on the roll. There are still great films coming out for the rest of the year. 2010 has still lots of exciting films to watch. I need to save some for them then. hahaha!

Enjoy the mid-week :)

Movie time: Letters to Juliet

Time won't let me
Decide thoughts to myself
I'd just like to let you know
I wish I'd never let you go

I'm being a hopeless romantic right now. Listening to this romantic songs makes me really cheesy. I don't know why romantic stuffs make us girls smile and seem to help us relax. It's like there is that romantic element in us that we can't erase. I thinks its a gift that we need to treasure. This was my mood yesterday when I decided to watch Letters to Juliet by myself. I always thought of watching this with my girlfriends. However, there is that time when you just want to be by yourself. Aside from shopping and having a  make over what better way to spend by yourself is to watch a nice movie. I was supposed to watch Toy Story 3 but then I promised my sister that we will watch it together once she gets back from her vacation.

The story follows a letter written to Juliet asking some advices on love. The letter was written 50 years ago by an English woman name Claire (Vanessa Redgrave). Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) found it buried in a loose brick when she accidentally knocked it down while getting the letters left by women around the world hoping to hear advices with their love issues from Juliet. Sophie decided to write back hoping that the Claire will receive it after all she is entitled for a reply. Less than a week after she met Claire and her grandson, Charlie (Chris Egan). Together, the three decided to embark on a joruney to find Claire's true love and asked forgiveness on giving up on him. Then that faithful day came when Claire finally met her true love, Lorenzo Bartolini, again. Sophie decided to get back to Verona to her fiance after Claire finally found Lorenzo. There was nothing for her there then. Charlie who had already fallen in love to Sophie and after listening to his grandma's advice, decided to follow her to Verona and confessed but only to see Sophie in the arms of her fiance. But when Sophie got back to New York, she broke up with her fiance and return to Italy to attend the wedding of Claire and Lorenzo and hoping for her love story to have a happy ending too. She finally realized that she has fallen in love with Charlie then. But at the wedding a girl named Patricia was with Charlie and this made her think that she was the ex-gf that he was madly in love with.  Only to realize that it was his cousin and that he is in love with her. They both confessed on a balcony just like how Romeo confessed his love to Juliet.

When I think of Juliet, it reminds me of that love tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. I was thinking before that this may be another love tragedy but I was wrong. Its a simple love story with a simple meaning. It's simplicity make this film a heartwarming and great film. I really like it! I'm not a huge fan of Romeo and Juliet. What made me really like this movie is the story of Claire and Lorenzo. I cried when they saw each other after fifty years. It was true destiny! Love found a way for this match heaven couple to end up together at last. It was a bit cheesy when Lorenzo came riding in a horse. It reminds me of those childhood fairy tales where the prince will go to his love (the princess of course!) riding in a white horse. It was a bit odd for me seeing this old prince riding in a horse going to her also old princess (hehehe!). But then you'll forget that their old because the story was beautifully created that you appreciate the beauty of love and destiny :) I did like the ending on how Sophie and Charlie confessed their feelings at each other. It really did copy how Romeo confessed his feeling to Juliet. Overall, this is a wonderful movie that will wake the romantic side of you.

Are you in love? Or perhaps a hopeless romantic like me? hehehe! Love for all! mwah!

Movie time: Hachiko

Germany trashed England at the World Cup! Though there is still more or less 15 minutes before stoppage time, it's too impossible for England to get back (4-1 to Germany). This is so sad for me as my favorite team England is not moving forward (again!) in World Cup :( But so much of the World Cup, I don't want to get depressed by it. Let me share a film that I never expected would hit me big time! The film is entitled Hachiko: A Dog's Story, starring Richard Gere , Joan Allen and among others.

This is based on a true story from Japan. Hachiko is an Akita Inu breed dog from Japan. He was send by a monk from Japan to America (though the receiver was never known). He was found by Parker Wilson, played by Richard Gere, wandering around in a train station. Since the station controller won't take him in, Parker took him home and tried to hide it from his wife. He planned on sending him to the right owner but he unconsciously grew to love Hachi. When the wife saw this, she finally accepted to have Hachi stay. Everyday Hachi will accompany Parker to the train station and he will also be there by the time he returned from work. This continued until that faithful day that Hachi will experience his first and last ball catching. Parker had a cardiac arrest at work and Hachi never seen him again. But he continued to go to the station for the next ten years until finally he and his master had finally see each other again.

Oh you need a lot of tissues (and I mean it!) because you'll be crying when you reach the middle part of the movie. As a matter of fact I am crying right now (lol!). I never expected that I'll keep on crying even after watching it!. This completely broke my heart. The dog really is a great actor. He really did win my heart. I wanted to have him as my pal.

Akita Inu dogs are known to be loyal and intelligent. This showed how smart and loyal he is to his master. Even though he is already with his master's daughter he still see his master as his true master and nobody else. He really showed his love for his master. He completely waited for him until they see each other again.
Hachiko is well-loved by the Japanese people. As a matter of fact, a bronze statue was created in Shibuya Station (where the real location is) in honored of him. He is a symbol of loyalty. Hachi taught us the value of loyalty and friendship. Nothing can destroy a relationship with true loyalty and friendship even death.

Oh it's enough! (sneeze) Hachiko is a heartwarming film that you, your family and friends would definitely love and enjoy. It's a simple story but has a strong emotion factor.

The game is finally over and no more England in World Cup :( How was your weekend guys? Hope it was fun! :)

Sun Guard: Biore Perfect Milk Sunblock SPF 50 PA+++

I've been MIA for awhile because I had just my three-days vacation to one of the fantastic and most sought-after vacation destination in the country. It's none other than the beautiful Boracay :) It was my first time to visit this wonderful island and it's been almost three years since I have been to the beach. It was so serene and I just can't stop smiling when I got there. I was so excited days before it that I 101% prepared for it. I planned every thing that I will do in the island and the stuff that I needed to bring. On top of my list is an effective and reliable sunblock. I want something that is not greasy, easy to apply, can be carried  around, high spf (of course!), and comes in good price. I searched over the web for some reviews on sunblocks. Read thoughts of gtalkers on the best sunblock to bring to the beach. There were a lot of suggestions that you'll end up still confused what to bring. Then I looked on to my beauty arsenal and saw my current favorite (and HG) sunblock, Biore. That made me realized that they do have one for the face and body and is waterproof! Yes, I ended up buying the Biore Perfect Face Milk SPF 50PA+++ sunblock.

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4.5/ stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

Totally effective! I am so happy I bought this :) This is the perfect (so far) sunblock to use if your heading to the beach. It has a thin, liquid-type texture and it is easy to apply then. It doesn't have that strong sunblock scent. It doesn't leave any white cast even though I have apply a lot on my face. It doesn't give any greasy look nor greasy feeling. This is waterproof and had a staggering SPF 50! This is definitely great to use on the beach since we need higher SPF if you're in the beach. This help me not get any sunburn :) My skin didn't got that too dark. I just got one shade darker than my usual color. But no one really notice that color change. I like the packaging of this product. It is easy to carry on because it is quite slim and a bit smaller which fits exactly to my small water case/bag. I am very happy I bought this. I bought this at wehaveit43 store which is located at Quezon City for Php 550. I'm sure this is a lot cheaper if bought in Japan. But then again considering the shipping fee and the customs checking, I think it is price reasonably. I have used this for my whole stay at the beach (3 days). I reapply every after 2-3 hours or after I swim. I consume at least 70% of it :) I would definitely buy this again once I go back to the beach :)

Have you found your favorite beach sunblock? You might want to try this :)

Review: Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil

Cleansing oil had been a staple in my cleansing routine ever since I learned the importance of double cleansing. It may sound weird for an oily skin to be splattered with oil. Don't you think that would be too much? Well the only way to combat oil is by using oil also. My first cleansing oil was from Elianto (my review) which was good. I did not bought another bottle of it since I want a new one and good thing I found a cheaper yet effective one. Introducing the Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil.

My say:
Performance: 5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

It's been with me for almost 7 months :) Yes, cleansing oil lasts for half a year for me. 2-3 pumps are enough for my entire face. The oil is less thicker compare to Elianto. It does remove make-up effectively and it didn't made me broke out. It doesn't have a strong scent and I barely noticed the scent. No oily feeling after. I don't understand anything on the bottle since it is written in foreign language ( Nihongo I think since it is made in Japan). It is big enough for longer usage :) The bottle comes in transparent blue/pink pump bottle. This isn't good to bring along especially when you are traveling. I can't remember how much I bought this but I believe this is cheap in Japan compare to the famous Shu. I'm not buying this for the mean time since I wanted to try other cleansing oil. It is quite boring to use the same cleansing oil for the next 6 months. I'm thinking of getting the Etude House Dream Cleansing Oil but it is always go out of stock. But I'm currently using a Nature Republic cleansing oil (sample size and I'll review it soon) until I get my hands on Etude House :)

Time flies by so fast. It's mid-week already! Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the week :)

Baviphat Essence Mask for Sebum And Trouble Care

Monday means work. A day before work I usually have a relaxation day at home. The week ahead of it will be stressful then. What better to prepare ahead of it is a nice facial mask. I used the Baviphat Essence Mask sheet for Sebum  and Trouble Care.

essence sheet mask for pores and dead skin care

My say:
Performance: 3/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Price: 3/5 stars

Baviphat is one of the newest cosmetics brand in Korea and it is becoming popular because of it's affordable yet effective products. This is my first time to venture on this brand. They have a lot of cute stuffs that are worth lemming at. This mask however is not one of them. It didn't do anything on my skin :( I didn't see any difference after using it. It gave me a bit of irritation on my lower chin but it subsided after a few minutes. This is maybe an initial reaction of my skin. The mask fits okay but the hole in the mouth area is quite small for me eventhough I have a small mouth. It has a light scent that isn't noticeable at all which I really like :) I bought this at the TLC shop around Php 85. I am not buying this again because it isn't worth it at all.

How was your weekend? I hope you did have fun as much as I did :)
