Shine Keeper: Skin Food Green Grape Fresh Light Pact

Oily skin can be a curse. No matter what you do to keep those oils away, it keeps on coming back :( In times like this, a good powder pact is needed to keep them at bay. Since I wrote on my last powder pact blog that I'll venture on different pacts, on top of my lists to try is the Skin Food Green Grape Fresh Light Pact.

This lightweight pact containing green grape extract creates a natural-looking, clear skin tone, with its fine, soft particles made using air jet mill technology.

My say:
Performance: 4/5 stars
Packaging: 5/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

This is a great powder for touch ups. It's very light thus doesn't cake up and gives a smooth finish :) No oily skin for almost 4 hours which is fine with me since I do touch ups after lunch and before going home. I used this after my bb cream and I have no worries if it will cake up since it's very light and the color perfectly match with my bb cream that it naturally blends well with it. I got #21 and I have a fair-to-medium skintone. In times I don't wear my bb cream (especially when I'm late), I noticed that it helps a bit in hiding my pores. It smells a bit of grape scent and more of that citrus scent. Amazing compact case! It doesn't break easily. I read on cacaopack that the case is very durable. I tried to toss and throw it around and dropped it for like 100 times yet the case remain intact :) Nothing broke on the case but I did this when I got to finish up the powder or else I think the powder itself will break. The puff has a separate case which acts like a barrier between the puff and powder. I like this for hygienic purposes. Overall, I love this pact and would definitely recommend this for oily babes like me :) I bought this at around Php 650 and I think its a good buy since it works well! Right now, I'm using a Face Shop pact which I'll review soon. I'll definitely buy this again soon :)

Happy Friday! Take care :)

Skin Food Peach Sake Pore Essence Mask Sheet

I adore face masks. They are great to relieve stressed and tired skin. I love to use this when I want to pamper myself on those relaxing days :) I have said here that one of my routine on weekends is using facial masks. Since it was a weekend yesterday (and yes it's the dreaded day again, Monday), I indulge myself for a relaxing day with a nice facial masks. I used the Skin Food Peach Sake Essence Pore Mask Sheet to relieve my skin from the bad heat we have in the country.

Essence mask sheet that controls enlarged pores and excessive sebum with peach sake, Japanese traditional fermented liquor...

My say:
Performance: 3.5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 3/5 stars

I have this mask on my drawer for too long already. I bought this late last year and included from my Skin Food haul. I bought this since this is for those who have pore issues like me. I decided yesterday to use this since it's been in my beauty arsenal for quite sometime ( I think for too long already, hehehe!). As always I place my mask sheets on the fridge for awhile before I use it. This helps in giving that cool and refreshing feeling upon application and I think this is also good to close the pores. This has a weird scent since it's a combination of peach and sake. However, I have tried the Peach Sake serum and it smells nice. I thought this will also smell nice but I don't like the smell at all. It gave me a bit of a headache but it is still bearable. No irritation upon application and the mask fits perfectly on my big face (lol!). I left it for 15 minutes. No dripping of essence when you open it. But after 15 minutes, it left me too much essence on my face that I end up using the sheet on my neck and feet :) Feels sticky and it took time for my skin to absorbed it. No changes noticed after. This is package like every mask sheet in the market. I think I bought this at around Php110 and will definitely not buy again since it didn't do much on my skin.

Work is almost over! I hope your day was good :) Take care!

Skin Guard: Etude House Glow Base Sun Guard SPF 36

Monday means flag ceremony (when you are working in a government agency) under the heat of the sun. I know it's early and the sun is not that harmful but then again it's the sun. One thing to use to at least fight it is a sunblock. Sunblock had been stapled in my beauty arsenal ever since I learned the importance of it. Anti-aging is one of those benefits we can get from using it rigorously. I'm in my mid-20's and yes I'm getting old. Prevention is better than cure ;) So to fight anti-aging early on is better than going through knife and spend much for it (you know what I mean, hehehe). I have used different sunblocks and one of it is the Etude House Glow Base Sun Guard SPF36.

  • House Protection from the Sun
  • Makeup base sun cream with SPF36/PA++

My say:
Performance: 3.5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Price: 4/5 stars

A make-up base yet a sunblock ;) It has a pink shade and blend wells. The pink shade gives that glow on your skin. It doesn't leave any white cast but I don't find it a good make-up base since it gives me that a bit of greasy look after. There is a bit of sparkle or shine upon application. I think this is the one that make me look greasy. I often used this at home since I rely on my bb cream with higher spf when I go out. It comes in a plastic pink tube and it is easy to carry along :) I bought this at a reasonable price around Php 300 I think from the local Etude House here. Overall I'm not buying it since I've fallen in love with Biore <3 I gave it to my sister and she seems to be happy with it ;)

Monday is not a favorite day of mine (perhaps for some also) since it means work again :-& Hoping for a less stress (or perhaps stress-free) day to us :) Take care!

Young Skin Plus Mask

It's Friday that means its weekend! Wohoo! But before going on complete weekend mode (though I am now, hehehe!) let me share to you one routine I do on weekend, using Mask sheet. I don't consider using a mask sheet a necessity. You could always forget it as long as you have a good moisturizer. But on days I want to indulge in pampering my skin, I rely on a good mask sheet ;) Finding a good mask sheet can be a difficult task. Filipinos don't used this. I never actually heard of this before not until I got introduced to Korean beauty goodies. I read that Koreans love to use mask sheet. That is why it is widely sold by every cosmetic brands they have. Ever since I tried it, I've been hooked up on it.

Young Skin Plus Coenzyme Q10 Essence Mask

The cheapest mask I ever bought (Php10) :) Bought it over at ebay from bhappywithme. I don't know how much this is sold in Korea. Yes, it is made in Korea (according to the packaging). I do love this mask sheet. Though it doesn't have any active pimple-fighting ingredient I believe (since the packaging is written in Korean language, it is just my own judgment), it's still work for me. There was a tiny bit of irritation upon using but it subsided after a minute or so. It smells like baby powder but not overpowering at all. I left it on for about 20 minutes. There was no sticky feeling after removing the mask and any remaining moisture was absorbed well. The next morning I felt my skin soft and not too much oily. This is indeed an amazing mask. I wish this is readily available in the country.

Have a nice weekend guys! Take care :)

2010 National Election

May 10, 2010 marks a new chapter in Philippine history. For the first time we are experiencing the fully automated election. How fully automated it is? Well it simply just able to count those ballots faster compare to the manual style before. This is just the beginning. I'm sure in the years to come a better and much easier way to vote will be created. So don't waste that vote of yours. Go out and let them hear your voice.

So sad I can't vote since I'm not a registered voter in Manila. But I pray for a peaceful and smooth election today. Long live the Philippines :)

Sunsilk Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner

Remember when I got my Sunsilk freebies last week? Sunsilk and Thomas Taw teamed up to create a hair care line for dry and damaged-hair. Thomas is an entrepreneurial stylist from London and considered to be a damaged repair hair expert. Well it's been a week worth of use already. So how was it on my hair?

Sunsilk Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner

enriched with Olive Serum Nutri Complex which gently cleanses and gives care to the most damaged hair, while reconstructing beneath the hair surface and filling damaged cracks deep inside - layer by layer, strand by strand.

My say
Performance: 2.5/5 stars
Packaging: 4/5 stars
Pricing: 4/5 stars

I don't consider my hair to be damaged even though it had been rebonded last November 2009. I never felt my hair to be dry rather it can be oily and unmanageable in some days. Though I still grabbed on those moisturizing one but I simply need something that could stop the oiliness and keep it frizz-free :) Sad to say this line doesn't do anything on my hair. The bad thing is that it gave me itchy, dandruff scalp :( I have to grab a very reliant dandruff shampoo, Head and Shoulder and Elianto Scalp-care shampoos, to remove those pesky dandruff. The shampoo was not moisturizing enough for my hair. It made my hair unmanageable so the conditioner was a saver for it. But when my hair is completely dry out (air-dry), it seems to become unmanageable and I didn't felt it to be moisturized well :( Though it smell nice and does not overpower :) The packaging were nice. There are different color for different hair needs that Sunsilk launched. I don't know the exact price of these since I got these for free :) Even though I got these for free, I'm not gonna buy these again but I may buy the other variant that fits completely my hair needs.

Take care guys and enjoy the weekend :)
